Back in December of 2008, while waiting in the drive-through at Starbucks, I was faced with a frustrated, rushed, driver behind me. Honking his horn and yelling out his window at me, it could have gone south in a hurry, perhaps a holiday visit to the dentist or some time spent in the hoosegow, but instead I found a better way, door number three, as I tell my tai chi students, not force against force and not yielding, but a third, creative alternative. It grew into something beautiful and was picked up by the national news.
